47 NCAA record for number of consecutive wins (47) by a major college program. Under Coach Bud Wilkinson, the streak spanned five seasons from 1953-57. Wilkinson’s career coaching record at OU was 145-29-4, an .826 winning percentage. Wilkinson, a member of Minnesota’s 1936 National Championship team, later coached the NFL’s St. Louis Cardinals for two seasons with an overall record of 9-20 from 1978-79.

138 Oklahoma record for points scored (138) in a season by Heisman Trophy winner Billy Sims in the 1979 season and by Heisman Trophy winner Steve Owens during the 1969 season.

274 Oklahoma Memorial Stadium record for most rushing yards gained (274) in a single game. Mike Gaddis ran for 274 yards vs. Oklahoma State in 1989. That effort accounted for approximately one-third of his entire season rushing yardage (829).

327 Total number of Oklahoma players selected (327) in the NFL draft as of 2006. To date only two NFL teams have not selected a Sooner in the draft: the Carolina Panthers and the Houston Texans.

428 Passing yards (428) credited to Paul Thompson before the start of the 2006 season. Before his senior season this multi-position player threw for four TDs, rushed for three more and hauled in 106 yards as a receiver. During the 2006 regular season, Thompson threw for 2,169 yards and 18 touchdowns while netting 111 rushing yards.

547 Number of points (547) that the University of Oregon received in the Associated Press ranking polls going into the 2006 Oklahoma matchup. Fans will remember the September 16 game that Oregon won 34-33 as one marred with controversy, including a missed pass interference call and a missed on-side kick call. Even after television instant replays showed the on-the-field referees made mistakes, both plays stood, leading OU President David Boren to ask the Big 12 commissioner Kevin Weiberg to strike the game from the record books.

627 The number of pass completions recorded (627) by Heisman Trophy winner Jason White during his Oklahoma career. From an extended career (1999-2004) due to injuries, White threw 81 touchdowns on 990 pass attempts.

792 Coach Stoops’ conference winning percentage (.792) against teams ranked in the top 25 as of his 100th game coaching. Stoops’ Sooners were 19-5 against top 25 teams, 6-3 vs. Top 10 teams, 5-2 vs. Top 5 teams, and 1-0 vs. #1 ranked teams during this timeframe.

832 Combined winning percentage (.832) of the two most victorious Coaches in the storied history of OU football. Barry Switzer holds the record for most victories by a Coach with 157 wins (157-29-4) and a winning percentage of .837. Bud Wilkinson’s record mirrored Switzer’s in losses and ties (at 29-4), although he won 12 fewer games (145).

936 The number of weeks (936) between National Championship number three and four. OU won seven National Championships between 1950 and 2000. The 936 weeks between the 1956 and 1974 Championships was the longest wait. The shortest was 48 weeks between the 1955 Orange Bowl victory on January 1, 1956 and their season finale on December 1, 1956.
